Do you know the Thin Places around Carlisle?
Thin Places are areas where there’s something strange about the landscape – from a fallen tree to a giant mound, they are places that in the past may have been seen as portals to another world.
British Artist Serena Korda will be making an exciting new sound artwork for Tullie and needs your help. Serena would like to make field recordings in and around Carlisle and is asking for locations where you feel there is a thin veil between here and other worlds.
This is very subjective: a thin place could be a fallen tree in a forest or a weed growing through the pavement, it is really about where you find beauty in Carlisle and its surrounding areas and where you feel there is a potential to be transported to other worlds. This is about the magic places you know and love and that you have a personal connection to so feel free to suggest as many locations as you like – just let us know the address or GPS location so that Serena can find it.
