Helping Hands
Helping Hands was a volunteering project for Cumbria. Working with 45 partners, the project improved access to exciting volunteer opportunities within arts and heritage organisations across Cumbria. The project was run by Cumbria Museum Consortium, of which Tullie is lead partner.
By the project’s conclusion in April 2024:
- 420 volunteers were placed into diverse roles across Cumbrian organisations, including museums, theatres, arts centres and historic sites
- CMC collaborated with 40+ cultural and community partners
- 825 participants engaged through the project
- 392 staff from cultural organisations received training to improve understanding of barriers to volunteering (including 148 CMC staff)
- 80 project partner representatives, stakeholders and volunteers attended a final conference exploring insights and experiences gained in February 2024
