Fossils we never see: their application in science and industry

David Jutson has a doctorate in micropalaeontology and decades of experience applying these skills across industries. Fossils we never see refers to fossils that are smaller than one millimetre and larger than one micron (one thousandth of a millimetre). The larger of these are referred to as microfossils while the smaller one (less than twenty microns) are nannofossils. Although rarely seen, they have an important role in industry and in a variety of fields from police forensics to art validation. This talk illustrates some of the forms of these fossils with examples of the uses they have been put to.

Tickets are free, but spaces are limited so we strongly recommend booking in advance.
