For three days only, a rare opportunity to see 16 incredible quilts from the Tullie collection which have not been on public display for over 20 years. Highlights include:
A medallion patchwork quilt stitched by Betty Ballas of Appleby as her wedding quilt, in 1790.
A Georgian wholecloth quilted bedcover made by the famous Northumbrian stitcher Joseph Hedley, known as “Joe the Quilter”.
A quilt made from Suffolk puffs, stitched by the pupils of the Robert Ferguson Senior School as a gift for their headmaster in the 1930s/1940s, using local textiles from Fergusons Fabrics and the Bucks shirt factory.
