Join us for another SPARK! (Carlisle’s Local Cultural Education Partnership) Open Day. This time at Shankhill C of E Primary School, Sunday 21 April. There’s a free minibus for families travelling from Brampton and Longtown, book your seat here.

Lots of fantastic organisations have come together to put on some wonderful activities throughout the day. There’ll be:

  • Willow weaving and pompom fun with Abby from Artscool
  • Meet a Jersey calf from Katherine’s Jersey Milk and taste some delicious fresh Jersey-milk ice cream
  • Nature’s Military Match up with Rachel from Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life
  • Explore trees and natural arts using clay in Shankhill’s Forest areas with Lulu and Alison from Children’s Forest
  • Donkey and chicken fun farm activities with Catherine from Broomhills Farm
  • Singing and music making with Mr Booth, Shankhill’s music teacher
  • Nature hunt and journaling fun in Shankhill School’s forest areas with Geoff from CDEC
  • Taste some fresh, local organic fruits and vegetables from Eva’s Organics
  • Poetry writing with David from Brampton Poets
  • Create your own smoothies with our amazing smoothie bike
  • Storytelling – listen to stories from our locality with Rev. Rob Brown
  • Stop Motion Animations with David from Tullie using iPads to create your own animations
  • Pet and feed alpacas with Richard, from Davidson’s Minibuses
  • Explore the nature and history of Bolton Feel Peat Moss Nature Reserve, with Natural England
  • Spinning Wheel – find out how to spin local Shetland wool with Ann Thomas, from Murray Holme
  • Pet newborn lambs from Shankhill’s neighbouring farmlands with David, Farmer

We’ll also have delicious delicacies to taste provided by Hidden River Café and Mrs Hope, Shankhill’s School Cook. Plus FREE refreshments available: hot chocolate, hot and cold drinks.
