Carlisle Zine Fest is an event dedicated to the DIY ethos of zine culture, where people who create zines can gather to sell, trade, and showcase their work. 

So what’s a zine? A zine is a DIY publication on any subject! They come in dozens of formats, sizes, styles, and topics. Zines are usually handmade and self-published. They can be anything, but usually they’re for sharing: fandom, raising awareness, niche topics, short stories, politics, writing, or art. 

If you come along – as well as browsing the zines and artwork being sold – there’s also an option to attend zine-making workshops and a drop-in talk with a local artist offering advice about making your own art to sell.
